We aim to ensure that they have more than just their P's, they have elite driving skills that make sure they come home safe, everytime.

Authors and keynote speakers
I am the author of two autobiographical books about my police service with Queensland Police. The first is Drugs, Guns and Lies about working undercover in the early 1980s in an era of police corruption and it details the impact of undercover work. The second is Gun To The Head, my experiences as a tactical special weapons operator resulting in chronic but undiagnosed PTSD and my journey to recovery. Both books are bestsellers and their success has resulted in my engagements by many organisations as a keynote speaker presenting on the subject of mental fitness and resilience.
In Hidden Scars, former NSW police officer Justyn Backhouse shares an unflinching memoir of life on the front lines, revealing the harrowing experiences and unseen toll of a 25 year policing career. Diagnosed with PTSD in 2021, Justyn wrote this memoir during treatment - not only as a path to healing but as an honest exploration of the psychological scars that come with being a first responder.
Author of the book The Urgent Connection, this work explores the powerful relationship between trauma, resilience, healing, and human connection. Shaped by extensive frontline leadership, lived experience, and mental health advocacy, it examines the impact of disconnection, burnout, PTSD, and the journey back toward purpose and wellbeing. Complementing this work, life coaching creates a supportive and empowering space for individuals to reconnect with themselves, strengthen relationships, and gain clarity in both life and leadership. Using a blend of practical strategies, mindset development, wellbeing practices, and trauma-informed approaches, the focus is on helping people move beyond survival and toward meaningful growth. At the centre of this philosophy is a simple belief: connection is fundamental to healing, purpose, and lasting wellbeing.

3zeros was established by three serving first responders. The 3Zeros company and their immediate family members have approximately 160 years of service to the community. We are passionate about supporting first responders with a particular focus on mental health. A percentage of our sales will be donated towards organisations that support first responders.
